Just wondering what everyone is listening to now on late nights Sundays now the programme has ended? I was a relatively new listener having first tuned in around 2020. Prior to this there was a good number of similar programmes out there and I had been a great fan of the David Jacobs Collection and latterly the Don Black show after his passing.
There was always something on BBC Sounds to fall back on when a programme ended on the BBC - somewhere in another region there was a like-minded show. This is how I found Harmony Night - I only wish I had found it earlier..... Finding a similar show is almost impossible now that they have homogenised the local network.
The only programme I have found that is similar to Bill's is Beverley's World of Music on BBC Radio Wales presented by Beverley Humphries. This is on at the same time as Harmony Nights and is also for 3 hours. It isn't so request led - she has a pleasant easy listening, albeit very similar playlist week to week, but does have regular listeners around the world who write in.
I usually listen during the week on Sounds. However, when that's gone there won't be anything on the BBC and that is a sad prospect.
What else is on outside of the BBC that is similar????
BBC radio Wales Sunday night Beverley humphries.
Gerald Jackson who was on bbc radio Manchester around the same time as Bill with unforgettable is now on. Rosedale radio where you can listen to the last 90 days of his Sunday afternoon shows.
BBC radio ulster Sunday night Kathy klugston with Sunday club and also fairly similar Mike edgar on a, Saturday night on bbc radio ulster.
